    Description

Exquisite antique Japanese bone china Set of 4 cups & saucers featuring hand painted Cranes or Tancho - red crown crane that is considered to be a symbol of Japan. Each cup and saucer is marked in calligraphy and signed by the artist, circa 1920. High quality porcelain, very thin and one can see the design through. The design itself is breathtakingly beautiful: red crowned Cranes are stretching their wings in the green field early in the morning with the first rays of golden sun and sam on color of the sunrise. It goes around the cup. To drink morning cup of coffee and contemplate. The set is in a good condition for the age. The cups have some tiny dark spots inside -natural  marks of fusion during creation ( the process at that time was not perfect. Look at the last picture). The 5th saucer is included, it has tiny crack but still could be used. The cup measures 2.5”, 3” Dia, the saucer - 5.5” Dia.
