    Description

    I bought just a few pieces of Purinton Pottery over the years, haven’t displayed them in over 10 years, and have decided to get rid of most of them now.
    I hope this authentic, labeled piece from decades ago will bring happiness to someone else.
    - This is the “honey jug” design. I don’t know the name of the pattern. It has a bit of a Pennsylvania Dutch look to it to me.
    - Pitcher is roughly 6.5” tall and 5” wide from front spout to back of handle.
    - Background color is a very creamy off-white. Hand-painted flowers are red and blue with green leaves and stems. The inside of each flower has been dotted with yellow before being glazed. Purinton like this matched my kitchen curtains perfectly before we moved over 10 years ago.
    - Imprinted on the flat base with the words “Purinton Slip Ware”
    - This is definitely Purinton. Some of the similarly painted pieces I have are not labeled, and I don’t know if they’re real Purinton. They all made me smile in the 2000’s though. :-)
    - I don’t know the age of this. However, since Purinton stopped production in 1959, I figure this is from the 1940’s or 1950’s - at the very least, 61 years old.
    - I don’t see chips or crazing myself. There are a few typical blemishes from the painting process, but the ones I see have all been glazed over. There is a little roughness inside the spout and round opening. I’d think this is all normal for a vintage handmade piece. Please examine photos carefully.
