Great old firehouse artifact ready for your collection or museum! This old Federal 3 horn signal unit has a cast iron manifold that blast signals for miles and miles. A coded message was sent with different series of short and long blast to communicate with the community. The air horns were built by the Federal Electric Company in Chicago Ill., manufactured to use on top of a tower or on a building and this one was last used in upstate New York. The three horns appear to be made of brass and 2 look like they have brass resonator plates and one plate looks like stainless steel. Like in the photos 1 horn is slightly bigger than the other two. The horns do have some small dents etc but nothing serious or distracting. The horns are in great shape and would look stunning all polished up and displayed properly. Use caution 156dbl@10m. This sale is for the unit shown and you would need to have your own air supply tank, compressor etc..
